The project
A 200-acre quarry, positioned at the centre of Tanzania.
From extraction to distribution — how the Tabora site is being developed into an aggregate supply operation.
Strategic location
Central Tanzania, at a road and rail crossing.
Tabora Region
Tabora is a historic transport hub in west-central Tanzania, sitting on the central railway line and at the junction of major regional roads connecting the Lake Zone, the western regions and the Dar es Salaam corridor. This central position places the quarry within practical reach of multiple regional construction markets rather than a single local buyer base.
The site's location supports both direct sales to contractors operating within Tabora Region and onward distribution to adjacent regions via existing road and rail infrastructure.
Logistics
Built around existing infrastructure.
Central railway line
Tabora sits on Tanzania's central rail corridor, offering a route for bulk aggregate movement over longer distances.
Regional road network
Direct road access connects the site to Tabora town and onward routes serving neighbouring regions.
On-site stockyard
Graded product is stockpiled by category on site, allowing fast loading and consistent order fulfilment.
Products
Graded aggregate for structural and civil use.
Run-of-quarry stone is processed through crushing and screening stages into a defined range of graded products, each suited to specific construction applications.
| Product | Typical application |
|---|---|
| Crushed stone aggregate (various grades) | Concrete production, precast, structural works |
| Road base & sub-base material | Road construction and rehabilitation |
| Rail ballast | Railway track bed construction and maintenance |
| Building stone & general fill | Foundations, drainage works, general construction |
Operations
From rock face to delivery.
Extraction
Controlled drilling and blasting at the quarry face, following the site's extraction plan and safety protocols.
Crushing & screening
Run-of-quarry stone is fed through primary and secondary crushers, then screened into graded products.
Stockpiling
Graded material is stockpiled by product line at the on-site yard, ready for loading against orders.
Transport & distribution
Product is loaded to road (and, where applicable, rail) for delivery to contractors and regional buyers.
